A day at the park

As I've mentioned in the last few posts... I spent a few days at the park when we had a brief showing of sunshine. I can't believe how beautiful and relaxing it was - so glad I brought my camera with me. Knowing it's only February 14th makes me a little sad because I know we have been deceived. Spring will not come back until June, so I'll relish the few breaks we get here and there.

Also... realizing today is February 14th - I am thinking I should be posting something "heart" related, or perhaps something I created that's super cute and pink.... But I've never really been that fond of this day. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love flowers & going out & and being spoiled just like the next girl... but this day holds too much meaning. Too much pressure. Too much money to greeting cards... 

The other day I mentioned to our middle school and high school students that Valentine was a name given to martyred saints.

"Huh?"

No one had a clue what I was talking about. Way to go Hallmark. Way to go.

Here I am again... loading on Monday what I had hoped to put up on Saturday... I don't know what it is about the weekends - but the last thing I want to do is sit in front of the computer... (I guess 5 days of computer work is enough)... Can't believe I've at least been consistent in posting a picture a day for over a month! (wish I'd been that consistent in some of my other goals...)

And finally... Feb 11 - 

I am FAR from susie-home-maker. Saturday morning I purchased my very first cupcake pan and dusted off my hand mixer (I'd forgotten I even owned one of these.)

The middle school youth group run by the hubs and for which I am a long time volunteer, was having the annual "Valentine's Dessert Fundraiser" on Saturday and Sunday. Worried we wouldn't have enough desserts to make the amount of money we were hoping for - I volunteered to not only work/run the event but also bring a few dozen cupcakes along (normally I opt out of the baking part - to spare everyone else...) To my surprise though, it was kind of fun! (not to mention, it gave me something to photograph which is the real joy.) They turned out edible (that's all I can ask) and we had a successful event!

Friday Photo Shoot

This is the trouble with keeping my work on several different computers. Checked one for the photo shoot I'd done with the sweet little babe that follows - and they weren't there... figured, maybe I put them on the work computer... Well... sort of. The first half at least. We split this session over two days so I guess I'll split the posts as well. The other half of the photos must be on the THIRD computer (laptop).

I was looking through my "Friday Photo Shoots" the other day, trying to compile all the work I'd done "for pay" and I couldn't find this session posted anywhere. I couldn't believe this ADORABLE little lady had been left out. So this session is a bit older but her cheeks are still totally squeezable...

(Also - I've compiled all the work I've done "semi-professionally" and it can be found by clicking my business card in the left sidebar... Until I get a little more professional that is.)
