Three-fer

Have a lot I wanted to say today.... First off... somewhere down the list of my "50 by 50" I mentioned I want to get paid for the photos I take - so I am learning to dabble with settings and shutters and apertures and the like. The following doesn't do it justice (a little over-exposed) but Bill's Boathouse has a great little fountain, emptying into a small pool where fish are sometimes kept... (in which they've caught many a kid fishing out of) - Only moving water in town so I thought I'd give it a shot!

Story #2.... I've upgraded my bicycle by downgrading the year. For the past year or so I've been commuting to and from work (every now and then) on my 7 speed Schwinn Cruiser. However this morning I came into work on a Schwinn Tempo Roadbike. Man, what a difference! Thanks to my Father-in-law, my ride to work was cut down by at least 10 minutes. This bike has seen it all too - rode the mountains of Europe and the amateur Tour de France when it was in its prime. My Father-in-law looked at my Schwinn and then looked at his and said, "Yup. Mine is one of the last good bikes Schwinn ever made." ....I agree.

similar bike pictured... mine is a little different... picture source

Three-fer...

April is the month of birthdays in my family (one more birthday post tomorrow!)... But today is all about my mom! She is an amazing woman & has taught me more than she could ever know. I hope that everyone has a mom (or surrogate mom) in their lives like I was blessed to have. Through adversity and trials she has remained a woman of peace and prayer. Happy Birthday Mom. :)

  3. I love the first photo. It kind of looks like an old polaroid.

  4. I'm so jealous of your new/old bike! My cruiser is just impossible to pull the kid trailer with anymore.

Happy birthday to your mom! It always makes me smile when someone loves and appreciates their mom. I lost mine two years ago this month, but I was fortunate to have an amazing, loving mother. Whenever I think of her I want to tell people to give their mom an extra hug today, and tell her you love her.

  5. Nice fountain photo! I'm still learning, too - kinda jumped into this, but ain't it fun?

Your new bike has a great story. How nice of your father-in-law!

And what a cute little Dutch photo for your mother! I love the windmill...

  6. We have included your blog in our guide Around The World.

The guide is both a record of old blogs and a listing of new blogs. Although originally arising from the "City Daily Photo Blog" lists this is an independent publication. Inclusion here does not imply that a blog qualifies for nor is officially a CDPB. Our criteria are that photographs mainly from and related to a specific geographical location (not necessarily a "city" but usually more specific than a whole country or region) are posted at dated intervals (not necessarily daily) and archives are kept which are readily searchable by date.

Please keep us informed of any changes to your details.
