Orange

If you read my post from Friday - you know I’m trying to learn some new photoshop techniques... Aside from the basic editing maneuvers (which I have yet to learn). This is the second effect I have studied and thought I would use it for my World Of Color post. It’s fitting in so many ways. This photo was not taken in Tillicum. The child pictured below lives in an orphanage in Niger, West Africa. I had the opportunity to visit there in January of 2010 through my church and the SIM organization. I don’t even have enough words to describe what I saw there - but LOVE pretty much sums it all up.

The sweet couple who ran the orphanage informed us that the country of Niger does not (typically) allow children to be adopted by Americans (otherwise I’d have brought them all home) - because people would use adoption as a business and have children in order to sell them... Sad state of affairs.

  1. Love your technique, it emphasizes the state of this child. So Americans are not allowed to adopt because they were selling children? That's just too sad.
