photos courtesy of the iphone this morning...

I didn't really know what to post this morning and I just sat and looked at the photos of this web I'd taken just outside my office on a cold and foggy morning... I was walking out to my car and stopped in my tracks when I saw the sun shining through this intricate web and I realized... God is in the details.

What I mean by that is - sometimes I'm busy looking for that big earth-shaking moment where I know God is speaking and moving and working... But that's not always the way it happens and honestly, I don't think that's what God is wanting us to look for.

Our guest pastor spoke on the words of Psalm 119:105 over the weekend...

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

I'm waiting for God to show me what's out there in the distance - in my future - when all God wants to show me is what's right in front of my feet. He wants to show me the details and how he can be involved in the small things now.
If I get caught up in the big picture - I miss the beauty God has for me. I walk right past it cause I'm late for a meeting when God just wants to stop me and show me the dew that rests securely on the thread of a web.

  1. Beautiful photos and beautiful words. God, indeed wants us to stop and take notice of the little things and ways he works.

  3. Lovely, lovely photographs and profound words. I especially liked the part about the dew resting securely on the thread of a web. Very poetic! - I love how God uses ALL for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Like you said, not just the big things, the small, the incremental, He hand is in it ALL!

  4. Amen to the details! I think we always like to seek for that elusive thing instead of looking at things that are right in front of us. It's a lesson learned over and over again!
